Community College Equity Assessment Lab (CCEAL)

The Community College Equity Assessment Lab (CCEAL)* is a national research laboratory under the Interwork Institute at San Diego State University. We help community colleges surface and assess challenges to equity-centered institutional effectiveness, as well as develop problem-solving strategies and solutions.

CCEAL was developed to advance three objectives:

To conduct and disseminate empirical research on the experiences of historically underrepresented and underserved students in community colleges.

To provide training that improves practices and research relevant to students of color, and other minoritized students, in community colleges.

To use assessment and evaluation to facilitate capacity-building within community colleges.

SERVICES

Quantitative

The Institutional Assessment Package (IAP) is an equity assessment that helps community colleges identify needs related to student success.

Qualitative

Focus groups enable community colleges to explore equity-centered institutional effectiveness – both challenges and solutions – on a deeper level.

Advisory

Advisory and consulting services are tailored to help partners navigate critical equity issues facing community colleges.
